The state of California has been recognized since the 1970’s as a leader in energy-efficiency policy, helping to keep the state’s per-capita electricity use constant while it has grown considerably in other parts of the U.S. These initiatives have been advanced through research and energy code development supported by the work of the California Energy Commission. • Co-Principal investigator for “Requirements for Controllable Lighting CASE Report,” on behalf of the Southern California Edison Codes and Standards Enhancement Initiative (CASE), as part of the 2013 California Energy Commission Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards Rulemaking Proceeding. (2009-2011)
• Principal investigator for “Electric Sign Efficiency CASE Report,” on behalf of the Pacific Gas and Electric Codes and Standards Enhancement Initiative (CASE), as part of the 2008 California Energy Commission Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards Rulemaking Proceeding. (2005- 2008)
• Technical contributor in support of the “Outdoor Lighting Baseline Assessment,” which evaluated energy use for outdoor lighting in California, on behalf of the California Energy Commission Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program (2001-2002)
