Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in electrical design, NICET Level II certification, and AutoCAD proficiency (Revit and BIM is a plus). Good written and verbal communication skills are a must. The candidate should demonstrate experience in Healthcare (HCAi), K-12 (DSA), or Higher Education projects.
Responsibilities:

As a project engineer/designer, design/draft fire alarm systems to meet project scope and code requirements necessary to complete assigned projects.

Direct and assist project related work of CADD operators on assigned projects. Review work for satisfaction of project scope requirements, standards and codes.

Represent the firm in design and construction support including, but not limited to, field investigation, meeting attendance, response to comments, construction submittal review, and responses to requests for information.

Design/draft projects in AutoCAD from design concept through construction documents with assistance from drafting support staff. Research and gather all available information for design of fire alarm systems per project scope of work, codes, and standards.

Maintain communication with firm’s project manager, clients and other engineering disciplines to coordinate project planning and design requirements.

Review design and/or construction documents for accuracy and compliance prior to quality assurance review by project manager or engineer. Prepare project specifications, required forms and reports.

Direct CADD operators on assigned projects to follow technical production standards. Maintain the projects’ production within schedule and budget.

Perform project site observations for compliance to construction documents.
